The Edo State Islamic Council has expressed deep appreciation to the Governor of Edo State Monday Okpebholo for the generous gifts of rams, bags of rice and cows to Muslims in the state for the celebration of Eid El Kabir.
Chairman of the Council Alhaji Abdulazeez Igbinidu who expressed this in a statement in Benin City, said the gifts has enabled many Muslims in the state to celebrate the Islamic festival without stress in the face of the prevailing economic realities.
Alhaji Igbinidu stated that the league of imams, and Muslims associations including youth, women groups and Area community are plp0p0peased with the governor’s kind gesture and prayed Allah reward him abundantly.
“The quality of the items, their timely and transparent distribution marked a sharp departure from previous efforts in this regard.
“We are humbled and deeply grateful to His Excellency for the palliatives extended to us and we pledge on behalf of the Edo Muslims community to continue to support and collaborate with your administration in the task of returning the state to the fast lanes of integrated development”, the chairman stated.
The Islamic Council revealed that their appreciation of the governor drew strength from the Almighty Allah’s commandment that Muslims appreciate those who assist them in the course of their life journeys.
He assured the government of the commitment of Muslim leaders to fairly distribute the items amongst members in the various mosques in the state.
The chairman wished that the State witness unprecedented progress, unity, and prosperity that will benefit all communities under the governor’s guidance,
He however prayed that Allah SWT guides, strengthen, and grant the Governor and his team the right vision and wisdom to pilot the affairs of the State to His glory, and the service of humanity.
