BENIN CITY — The Chairman of Egor Local Government Area, Hon. Kelvin Eguakun, has called on Miss Edo International 2025, Miss Tracy Okodede, to use her platform to promote patriotism, empower young women, and preserve the cultural values of the state.

The Chairman gave the charge when Miss Okodede paid him a courtesy visit at the Egor Local Government Secretariat, accompanied by the organisers of the Edo International Beauty Pageant.

He described the newly crowned beauty queen as a symbol of Edo’s promise and encouraged her to be a role model to young girls in the State.

Hon. Eguakun urged Miss Okodede to use her title to advocate against drug abuse and other social vices affecting youth development.

He assured her of the Council’s continued support and pledged to assist her in fulfilling her responsibilities as a cultural ambassador and youth advocate.

In her remarks, Miss Okodede thanked the Chairman and the staff of Egor Local Government for their support, which she said contributed to her emergence as Miss Edo International.

She pledged to uphold the values of the pageant and to use her position to motivate young women to strive for excellence and give back to their communities.

She also called on girls across the State to remain focused, cultivate discipline, and maintain a sense of responsibility to their local government and Edo State at large.

The visit was marked by an atmosphere of celebration and goodwill, with Council staff and visitors welcoming the beauty queen as a symbol of both tradition and youthful aspiration.
