Former Chelsea midfielder, John Obi Mikel recently voiced his disappointment over Cole Palmer’s performances in Chelsea’s high-profile matches this season, specifically against Manchester City, Manchester United, and Liverpool.
Mikel, who has praised Palmer’s potential, highlighted the young midfielder’s lack of impact in crucial games, comparing it to a similar concern he has about Manchester City’s Erling Haaland.
“We talk about Cole Palmer – I’m a huge fan. I think everybody is a huge fan. But again, the big games, you need to show up,” Mikel shared on his podcast, as reported by One Football.
He further stated, “That again is my only question with Haaland. So far, Haaland hasn’t done that for City. So far, Cole Palmer hasn’t done it for us.”
Despite showing promise since his move from Manchester City last year, Palmer has yet to deliver the decisive performances Mikel believes Chelsea needs from him in major fixtures.
